Iggy Pop Remembers Seeing Kurt Cobain for the First Time
What Iggy said about Kurt:
“I went to see Nirvana at a small club called the Pyramid on Avenue A in New York City. It was hard to hear the guitar, but the guy playing and singing had a vibe; he hopped around like a muppet or an elf or something, hunched over his guitar, hop hop hop, hippety hippety hop, I loved that.
“When he sang, he put his voice in this really grating place, and it was kind of devilish sounding. At the end of the set he attacked the drum kit and threw cymbals, other bits, and finally himself into the audience.
“Later I saw the same guy passing the bar. He was little, with stringy blond hair and a Stooges T-shirt. I felt proud.” Iggy Pop, Spin, 1995
Kurt Cobain Talks About Iggy Pop
Iggy Pop's thought's uncensored about Nirvana & Kurt Cobain's death
Unknown Nirvana song: Talk To me, supposedly written for Iggy Pop. How beautiful, poetic
Iggy Pop: "Um it's a terrible thing. That this guy (Kurt Cobain) didn't get to live his life and enjoy his time on earth more and I think that's because of the people around him and I don't mean just his wife. But all the people around him and uh......he made too much money for too many people and he became too valuable too soon. He had to die and that's how it works and it's not nice. That's what I got to say about that".
